Deze Meinl Sonic Energy Wind Gong is op traditionele wijze met de hand gemaakt in China. Hiervoor wordt een speciale bronslegering gebruikt. De wind gong, ook wel bekend als 'Feng' of 'Sun Gong', heeft een diameter van 24 inch en het oppervlak is nagenoeg plat. Een lage, breed dragende klank is wat je mag verwachten van dit fraaie instrument. Hard aangeslagen krijgt de klank steeds meer 'sizzle' en hogere boventonen. Iedere gong heeft een specifieke beater nodig om de best mogelijke klank te krijgen, daarom wordt er een beater meegeleverd die speciaal voor dit model gemaakt is.
